You never know when your comments, experiences, or opinions will attract some of the big names like CNN Money and the Wall Street Journal, which is why being open and transparent in your business will boost your credibility at little or no cost to you.
My goals over the years is to share what I’ve learned, be helpful when I can and express my opinions on what goes on in the real estate market and the people that work in this industry.
Some of my most memorable posts are my direct assessment of varying situations. The one that caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal was “Is Flipping Dead?“.
Some of my other favorite blog posts that still hold true today:
- Contractors SUCK, Rehabbers are STUPID
- Real Estate Investing and the “Trust Me” Guy – How I almost fell for a scam.
- Our First Deal Fed a SCAM! – My first eye opening experience in the evil embedded in this industry.
- How the Tools You Use to Communicate can Blow a Deal – I saw it happen. One likes to talk on the phone, the other wants short answers via email. They both lost.
- 12 of the Most Bizarre Pics I’ve Seen while Researching Properties – you gotta see it to believe it.
- And of course, The Seminar Business and the “Hard-Sell Up-Sell” – a very disappointing time when I realized it was never about real estate investing for them.
How to Get Featured in Major Publications?
I never sought out to be featured in major publications, yet I’ve attracted these nationwide publishers and several local news sources throughout the country organically. Just know, that if you are a blogger like me, be authentic, be knowledgeable, put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to help others. If you’re serious about your online platform, you can hire a PR consultant. That’s not me.
